Poster I’m making for the recreation ministry at my church that shows poeple how they can get involved.

You might try to use more images. It could make the piece more interesting and help draw people in if it helps communicate.
Take the header. Maybe straighten out "Get Involved," and lose the blue and the squiggle for something that says "Recreation." Maybe something like this.

Did you change this to RGB before uploading? I noticed that both of your uploads seem super bright...this happened to me the first time I uploaded then someone told me how to fix it. I would have the scripture verses on just two lines...the way it is makes my eyes struggle...also see notes...
